It is my goal to establish and maintain regular contact with the parents/guardians for all my students. I strongly believe that there is a positive correlation betweens student achievement and parent involvement. To facilitate this two-way communication is the main goal of this site. Please read down for some information that will help you help your children. I urge you to contact me about your child using the following information: turingan.josephine@brevardschools.org or (321) 242-6400 ext. 304 Please allow 24-48 hours for me to respond.
FCAT Science: I will address our goal of becoming first in the nation in Science with the appropriate curriculum in the classroom. As reinforcement for the curriculum, I will be giving Science vocab practice quizzes regularly. Meanwhile, you can work on your FCAT Science practice here as published by the DOE. Go to our Science Dept website and click on FCAT Vocabulary to review Science vocab. I also encourage you to check out FCAT Explorer. This is another tool that will help you help your children be successful in March.
ESOL I welcome my students whose first language is not English. Having originated from a foreign country myself, I empathize with the plights of ESOL students. Check these web resources as you learn your adoptive language.
This is a great resource to help you help your children who may have learning disabilities. Making the "No Child Left Behind Act" Work for Children Who Struggle to Learn is a free downloadable brochure to help parents with children who have special needs and other learning difficulties.
