What is it?

Integrated Science II is the second course in a three-course series that teach biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and earth and space science concept skills in a coordinated and spiraling curriculum. The Integrated Science sequence is designed to exceed the standard courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and addresses all of the Sunshine State Standards for Science in high school.

Why?

Based on a number of reports on science education, it has been found that the curriculum as is being used is obsolete.  Researchers have found that it is not adequately preparing our students to thrive in today's science/technology - oriented society.  There is a general agreement among professional and science educators that we must modify our curriculum to reflect and address this need to better prepare our youth for the 21st century.

Who?

Integrated Science is for everyone.  Our brightest and average students benefit by experiencing connections among disciplines, understanding the relevance of scientific concepts and principles to their daily lives and focusing their energies on meaningful content and higher-order thinking.  Exceptional education, "at risk", and all students benefit from the opportunity to apply scientific knowledge and processes to everyday life and to develop lifelong skills for learning about the world and universe in which we live.

"In the science classroom, wondering should be as highly valued as knowing."
